Chef Arrested in Delhi for Rs 17 Lakh Cyber Fraud
New Delhi, February 3: In a significant cybercrime bust, Delhi Police have arrested a 25-year-old chef for allegedly aiding fraudsters in siphoning off over Rs 17 lakh from a city resident through online scams, officials reported on Tuesday.
The accused, identified as Pathan Uzef Khalil Khan, a resident of Jalna district in Maharashtra, was apprehended and brought to Delhi on a transit remand. Police said he allegedly played a key role in helping cybercriminals dupe the victim using fake work-from-home opportunities involving paid online tasks.
The case came to light when Rahul Saini, a resident of Keshav Puram, filed an online complaint stating that he had been cheated of Rs 17,16,777 by fraudsters promising lucrative earnings through work-from-home assignments. Acting on the compla...
