Vatsalya School Hosts Mega Anti-Drug Awareness Drive; Over 1,500 Students Take Pledge for a Drug-Free Life

DIG (Rural) Bhopal Range and Vidisha SP Attend the Event, Flag Off Anti-Drug Awareness Rath

Street Plays, Inspirational Songs, Signature Campaign, and Interactive Session Spread Awareness

As part of the statewide public awareness campaign “Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0”, launched under the call of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and the directives of the Madhya Pradesh Police Headquarters, a massive anti-drug awareness programme was organized at Vatsalya School, Vidisha, on Monday. More than 1,500 students, teachers, and school staff participated in the event and pledged to build a drug-free society.

The programme commenced with the worship of Goddess Saraswati and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by Rajesh Singh Chandel, Deputy Inspector General (Rural), Bhopal Range, and Rohit Kashwani, Superintendent of Police, Vidisha. Students were educated about the harmful effects of drug abuse, its social, mental, and physical consequences, and the importance of adopting a healthy and positive lifestyle. An awareness video based on the “Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0” campaign was also screened.

Street Plays and Cultural Performances Deliver Strong Message

Students presented inspirational songs, street plays, and participated in a signature campaign highlighting the dangers of substance abuse. Their performances effectively encouraged everyone to stay away from drugs and promote a drug-free society.

Later, the Anti-Drug Awareness Rath (campaign vehicle) was flagged off by the DIG and the SP. The awareness vehicle will travel across the district to spread the message of a drug-free lifestyle among the public.

Drug Abuse Destroys Health and Future: SP Rohit Kashwani

Addressing the gathering, Superintendent of Police Rohit Kashwani stated that drug addiction adversely affects an individual’s health, family, and future. He urged students to stay away from all forms of substance abuse and motivate their friends and family members to do the same while embracing a disciplined and positive lifestyle.

Youth Are the Nation’s Greatest Strength: DIG Rajesh Singh Chandel

Speaking on the occasion, DIG Rajesh Singh Chandel said that the youth are the country’s greatest asset. If young people stay away from drugs and focus on education, sports, and constructive activities, they can make significant contributions to the development of their families, society, and the nation. He encouraged every student to remain drug-free and inspire others to follow the same path.

Interactive Session Resolves Students’ Queries

During the programme, students asked several questions related to drug abuse and addiction. DIG Rajesh Singh Chandel answered them in a simple, practical, and solution-oriented manner, helping students better understand the risks of substance abuse and ways to prevent it. The interactive session further motivated participants to adopt a healthy and responsible lifestyle.

Mass Pledge for a Drug-Free Society

At the conclusion of the event, all students, teachers, and school staff took a pledge to remain drug-free and actively contribute to building a drug-free society. Participants also joined the signature campaign to reaffirm their commitment. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.

Under the “Nashe Se Doori Hai Zaroori 2.0” campaign, Vidisha Police continues to organize awareness programmes in schools, colleges, and public places across the district. The campaign aims to educate youth and the general public about the harmful effects of substance abuse and inspire them to build a healthy, aware, and drug-free society.
