The residents emphasized the need for a permanent solution to the supply of clean drinking water and Narmada water, reconstruction of the deteriorating drainage system, regularization of remaining plots, development of a cow sanctuary (Gau Udyan), and transparent, public-oriented utilization of development charges collected from residents.

After listening to the concerns in detail, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav assured the delegation that several key development projects would be undertaken on a priority basis. He stated that construction of a new drainage system in Tulsi Nagar would commence shortly, with the entire cost being borne by the government.

The Mayor further informed that the colony’s internal roads would be developed under a public participation model, under which residents would contribute 30 percent of the project cost while the remaining 70 percent would be funded by the Municipal Corporation.

He also announced that the main road project approved through the MLA Development Fund would begin soon. Under the Fourth Phase of the Narmada Water Supply Scheme, the entire Tulsi Nagar area would be connected to the network, and new pipelines would be laid in areas where water supply infrastructure is currently unavailable.

Addressing the issue of plot regularization, the Mayor stated that necessary action would be taken in accordance with the policies of the Madhya Pradesh Government, and recommendations would be made at the state level to facilitate the process. He also assured residents that work on the proposed Gau Udyan (Cow Sanctuary Park) would be initiated in the near future.

The meeting was attended by MIC Member Rajesh Udawat, Water Works In-Charge Bablu Sharma, and Mahesh Joshi, along with the Mayor.

The residents’ delegation included Rajesh Tomar, Sanjay Yadav, Rakesh Jaiswal, Shiv Bahadur Singh, Praveen Malviya, Mahesh Sengar, Hariram Namdev, Amol Patil, Harinarayan, Ramkrishna Patel, Mrs. Sharda Singh, Mrs. Geeta Mishra, Mrs. Jyoti Thakkar, Ramchandani, and several other residents of the colony.

Following the meeting, the residents made it clear that if these crucial development projects are not implemented promptly and unnecessary delays continue, the people of Tulsi Nagar will be compelled to launch a large-scale public movement in the interest of the community.

Residents Hope for Early Action

The assurances given by the Mayor have generated optimism among Tulsi Nagar residents regarding the commencement of long-awaited development works. However, residents emphasized that they will judge progress based on actual implementation rather than promises and will continue to closely monitor the execution of the announced projects.
