Speaking at an interaction organized by the State Press Club, Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Heller said the visit came at a significant moment in India–Germany relations. He noted that earlier this year German Chancellor Friedrich Merz visited India, where he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in trade, investment, technology, innovation, science, and people-to-people exchanges.

Mr. Heller said a central focus of the Madhya Pradesh visit was to advance economic cooperation between Germany and the state. Discussions centered on strengthening business ties, facilitating investment, and identifying new areas of collaboration in sectors of mutual interest.

He also highlighted that India and Germany are celebrating the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations this year. Diplomatic relations were established in 1951, and Germany has since become one of India’s most important partners in Europe. Cooperation now spans trade and investment, green technologies, science and innovation, education, skill development, culture, and social exchanges.

Mr. Heller emphasized the importance of institutional and personal connections in sustaining bilateral relations. He said that durable partnerships are built not only through governments and businesses but also through academic, scientific, and cultural exchanges.

“These networks play an important role in promoting academic, scientific, and cultural exchange between Germany and India and serve as bridges between our societies,” he said.

Summarizing his visit, Mr. Heller stated that Madhya Pradesh offers significant potential for deeper India–Germany cooperation. He praised the state’s economic growth, industrial ambitions, and openness to international partnerships, adding that Germany is keen to expand its engagement with Madhya Pradesh in the years ahead.

He also thanked the people of Indore for the warm welcome and expressed his desire to visit the state more frequently as India–Germany relations continue to grow.

The event was welcomed by Praveen Khariwal, Kamal Kasturi, Harshvardhan Prakash, and Sameer Khan. Mementos were presented by Navneet Shukla, Prof. R.K. Jain, Rachna Johri, and Ritu Sahu. The program was conducted by Pankaj Kshirsagar.
