Indore, July 25: Madhya Pradesh has emerged as India’s leading state in organic farming, contributing more than 27 percent of the country’s total organic cultivation. Under the National Natural Farming Mission, over 189,000 farmers have been connected through 1,513 clusters, while natural farming practitioners are also receiving financial support for indigenous cattle rearing.
During the Balram Krishi Mahotsav in Khargone, farmers shared inspiring success stories with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Organic farmer Avinash Dangi, who cultivates 54 acres entirely through organic methods, said his agricultural products are supplied to 13 states across India.
Another progressive farmer, Anil Verma, shared that income from White Musli cultivation enabled him to send his son to the United States for higher education. His son is pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) at Ohio University and has also started teaching there. Anil Verma said that besides White Musli, he also cultivates papaya, onion, and soybean and earns an annual profit of ₹5–7 lakh. He added that government subsidies on Musli processing machinery have significantly reduced labour costs and benefited hundreds of farmers in the region.
The Chief Minister praised the achievements of progressive farmers and urged others to embrace modern, natural, and sustainable farming practices to improve their livelihoods.
