RTO Launches Special Drive Against Illegal Transportation of School Children, Four Vehicles Seized

Indore, July 25: Acting on the instructions of Collector Shivam Verma, the Indore Regional Transport Office (RTO) and the Divisional Road Safety Squad conducted a special enforcement drive on Saturday morning against the illegal and unsafe transportation of school children.

Under the guidance of RTO Pradeep Sharma, a team led by Transport Inspector Akash Sitole carried out intensive inspections of Maruti vans, auto-rickshaws, and school buses operating on various school routes. During the drive, three Maruti Omni vans and one auto-rickshaw were seized for violating transport regulations. Additionally, fines amounting to ₹23,000 were imposed under various provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

Officials stated that the safety of school children is the highest priority. Strict action will continue against vehicles carrying students beyond the permitted capacity, operating without mandatory documents, or violating prescribed safety norms. School vehicle operators have been urged to comply with all provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and school transport safety regulations to ensure the safe transportation of students.
