Jabalpur, July 25. (SDNA)
As part of the district administration’s ongoing campaign against unsafe and contaminated food products, a joint team of the Food Safety Department and the Municipal Corporation conducted a surprise inspection at Manmohan Hotel in Civil Lines on Saturday under the directions of Collector Raghvendra Singh.
According to Food Safety Officer Amit Gupta, the inspection revealed extremely unhygienic conditions, including food preparation and storage in unsanitary surroundings, with cockroaches and insects found near food items. Considering the potential risk to public health, the establishment’s food registration was suspended with immediate effect.
During the same enforcement drive, officials also collected a paneer sample from Soni Dairy in Sadar for laboratory analysis. The sample has been sent to the State Food Laboratory in Bhopal, and further action will be taken under the Food Safety and Standards Act based on the laboratory findings.
The Food Safety Department has urged all food business operators to maintain strict hygiene standards and ensure the supply of safe and quality food products to consumers.
