Despite Appeals from the Mayor to the Chief Minister, the Issue Remains Unresolved; Resident Prepares to Approach Consumer Forum

Indore: Rashmi Jain, a resident of House No. 1381-B in Scheme No. 71, has alleged that she has been struggling for several years with issues related to electricity poles, road excavation, and unplanned civic works. She claims that despite submitting repeated written complaints and registering grievances through the CM Helpline, the problem remains unresolved due to the alleged nexus between departmental officials and contractors.

According to Rashmi Jain, there are already two electricity poles in front of her house, which have caused repeated electrical faults and incidents of electric current leakage in the past. Despite this, the Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company (MPPKVVCL) is reportedly planning to install yet another pole in front of her residence. She further alleged that while encroachments on government land in the locality have not been removed, the authorities are insisting on installing a pole directly in front of her property.

Rashmi Jain stated that she had lodged several complaints in the past through the CM Helpline and also submitted written representations to regional officials, the zonal office, the Indore Municipal Corporation, MPPKVVCL, the Collector, Additional Collector, police authorities, and appealed repeatedly to everyone from the Mayor and local MLA to the Chief Minister. However, she claims that no permanent solution has been provided to date.

She further alleged that whenever officials inspect the site, the actual situation is explained to them, but after they leave, the contractors allegedly resume the work in the same arbitrary manner. She also claimed that she has faced intimidation for objecting to the work. Residents of the area, she said, continue to suffer due to deep excavations and poorly executed civic works.

Speaking to SD News, Rashmi Jain said that these complaints are several years old, yet the situation remains exactly the same. She warned that if the Indore Municipal Corporation and the Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company fail to resolve the issue this time, she will directly approach the Consumer Forum. She intends to file a case against both the Madhya Pradesh Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company and the Indore Municipal Corporation, seeking compensation for the mental, financial, and physical hardship she and her family have endured over the years.

Rashmi Jain has demanded a fair and impartial inquiry into the matter, action against any officials or contractors found responsible, and an immediate resolution of the long-pending issues affecting the residents of the locality.

Note: The allegations regarding the alleged collusion between officials and contractors are those of the complainant, Rashmi Jain. The response of the concerned departments was not available at the time of publication and will be published when received.
