‘Crop Insurance School’ Organized in Parswada, Farmers Made Aware of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana

NABARD and Madhya Pradesh Rural Bank Conduct Awareness Programme, Urge Farmers to Get Crop Insurance on Time

To encourage farmers to insure their Kharif crops under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), a “Crop Insurance School” was organized at village Parswada in Jabalpur development block. The programme was conducted by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and Madhya Pradesh Rural Bank.

During the awareness programme, farmers were provided detailed information about the objectives, benefits, eligibility criteria, application process, premium payment, and claim procedures in case of crop damage under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana. Farmers were also encouraged to complete crop insurance formalities on time and take maximum advantage of the scheme.

The programme was attended by Senior Manager of Madhya Pradesh Rural Bank Mrs. Varshita Modi, NABARD representative Ms. Devika Mehrotra, Agriculture Insurance Company of India’s Tehsil representatives Rohan Bairagi and Pawan Yadav, along with other officials.

Farmers were informed that for loan-based farmers, essential documents required for crop insurance include Aadhaar card, photocopy of bank passbook, copy of land records (Khasra-Khatauni), and sowing certificate.

Under the scheme, the premium rates fixed for crops are ₹358 per acre for irrigated paddy, ₹252 per acre for non-irrigated paddy, ₹248 per acre for maize, and ₹231 per acre for urad (black gram).

Officials appealed to farmers to complete crop insurance within the prescribed period and secure their crops against possible losses caused by natural calamities.
