

Mumbai: The Maharashtra Government has taken another significant step toward establishing the state as a leading hub for emerging advanced technologies. A meeting of the Maharashtra Advanced Manufacturing and Frontier Technology Institute (FTI) was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, where detailed discussions were held on developing a strong and capable ecosystem for quantum computing and deep technology (Deep Tech).
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration among research institutions, innovation centers, industries, startups, and academic organizations to accelerate technological advancement. Discussions also covered strategies to boost research and development, attract investments, and build globally competitive capabilities in frontier technologies.
Chief Minister Fadnavis stated that the government is working with a long-term vision to position Maharashtra as a leader in frontier technologies. He directed the concerned departments to prepare a time-bound action plan to promote technological innovation, research, and the development of advanced technology infrastructure across the state.
Experts, industry leaders, and senior government officials also shared their recommendations on quantum computing, deep technology, and advanced manufacturing, emphasizing the need to accelerate technological progress and strengthen Maharashtra’s position as a center of innovation and future-ready industries.
