Health Department Issues Advisory to Prevent Water-Borne and Mosquito-Borne Diseases During Monsoon

Indore, July 18, 2026: In view of the increased risk of diarrhoea, typhoid, cholera, jaundice, malaria, and dengue during the monsoon season, the Health Department has issued a detailed public advisory.

Citizens have been advised to drink boiled and clean water, wash hands before meals, avoid open defecation, prevent waterlogging around their homes, and maintain proper sanitation.

To prevent malaria and dengue, people should regularly clean coolers, flower pots, refrigerator trays, old tyres, and other places where water collects, use mosquito nets, and undergo blood tests immediately if they develop a fever.

The department has placed all Rapid Response Teams (RRTs) across the district on high alert to ensure prompt action in the event of any disease outbreak.
