Indore, July 18, 2026: The Department of Farmer Welfare has urged farmers to insure their Kharif crops under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) by July 31, 2026.
The department stated that due to the possible impact of El Niño, irregular rainfall, drought, excessive rainfall, and other natural calamities during 2026, farmers should ensure insurance coverage for all notified crops.
Farmers have been advised not to wait until the last date and to complete the insurance process through their nearest bank branch, Customer Service Centre (CSC), Crop Insurance Portal, Crop Insurance App, or authorized insurance company.
