

New Delhi, July 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has described the launch of Vikram-1 as a historic milestone for India’s space sector, marking a new era for the country’s private space industry.
In a message shared on social media, the Prime Minister announced that Skyroot Aerospace would undertake the maiden orbital launch of Vikram-1 at 11:30 AM, describing it as India’s first privately developed orbital launch vehicle. He said the mission represents a significant step forward in India’s space journey.
According to the Prime Minister, Vikram-1 is a four-stage launch vehicle designed to provide rapid, flexible, and on-demand satellite launch services. He noted that the mission showcases the growing capabilities of India’s private space sector and is expected to strengthen innovation, technological advancement, and the country’s vision of self-reliance in space technology.
Prime Minister Modi congratulated the scientists, engineers, and the entire team of Skyroot Aerospace on this landmark achievement. He expressed confidence that the mission would open new opportunities for India’s space ecosystem and further enhance the country’s position in the global space economy.
