Several social organizations and concerned citizens will hold a peaceful demonstration tomorrow, 18 July at 5:00 PM, at the Mahatma Gandhi Statue, Regal Square, Indore, in support of renowned educationist and innovator Sonam Wangchuk. The protest is being organized in solidarity with his indefinite hunger strike against alleged irregularities in competitive examinations and his demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Social activist Advocate Sunil Khandelwal stated that the present Central Government has become insensitive and is encouraging a lack of democratic dialogue. He said that Sonam Wangchuk, a distinguished scientist and innovator who has brought global recognition to India through his contributions benefiting both the Indian Armed Forces and civilians, deserves to have his concerns heard. According to Khandelwal, the government’s refusal even to engage in discussions on Wangchuk’s demands reflects its indifference and insensitivity.
He appealed to the citizens of Indore to participate peacefully in the demonstration along with their families and express their support for the cause.
