Bhopal: In a bid to reconnect with young voters and strengthen its campaign for a political comeback in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress organized a Gen Z Cyclothon in Bhopal under the leadership of Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) President Jitu Patwari. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of young people.
Addressing the gathering during the rally, Jitu Patwari said, “This is not merely a bicycle ride through Bhopal; it is a journey of struggle to create history.” He added that the youth of Madhya Pradesh aspire for change, and the Congress is committed to fighting for their future, aspirations, employment, education, and social justice.
Having remained out of power in Madhya Pradesh for several years, the Congress has been working to rebuild its organizational strength while expanding its outreach among first-time and young voters. As part of this strategy, the party has launched a focused campaign targeting Generation Z, believing that the support of young voters will play a decisive role in shaping the state’s political future.
According to Congress leaders, the Gen Z Cyclothon was not merely a symbolic event but an initiative to engage directly with the younger generation, understand their concerns, and encourage greater democratic participation. Issues such as unemployment, quality education, inflation, farmers’ welfare, and inclusive development were highlighted throughout the campaign.
Political observers believe the Congress is experimenting with new forms of public engagement to improve its connect with young voters. The Gen Z Cyclothon is being viewed as a key component of the party’s broader strategy to strengthen its grassroots presence ahead of future elections.
While the effectiveness of such campaigns will ultimately be measured at the ballot box, the event clearly signals the Congress leadership’s intent to make youth engagement a central pillar of its political strategy in Madhya Pradesh.
