Municipal Negligence in Kadipur Enclave: Social Worker Rajbala Yadav ‘Rozy’ and RWA President Shyam Sundar Yadav Lead Cleanliness Drive

Gurugram: The stark contrast between the Municipal Corporation’s claims and the ground reality is clearly visible in Kadipur Enclave. Frustrated by the prolonged neglect of sanitation services and the widespread accumulation of garbage, local residents have now taken matters into their own hands. In this initiative, social worker Rajbala Yadav ‘Rozy’ and RWA President Shyam Sundar Yadav, along with their team and local residents, conducted a large-scale cleanliness drive across the locality. During the campaign, they personally swept the streets and cleared heaps of garbage while expressing strong dissatisfaction with the functioning of the Municipal Corporation.

No Improvement Even After 15 Months

Rajbala Yadav and Shyam Sundar Yadav jointly stated that nearly 15 months have passed since the Municipal Corporation elections. Although the newly elected Mayor and Councillors have assumed office, the residents of Kadipur Enclave continue to struggle for basic civic amenities. They alleged that ever since the Municipal Corporation came into existence, the area has suffered from a severe lack of regular sanitation services.

Questions Raised Over Absence of Sanitation Staff

The local leaders alleged that residents have no idea when sanitation workers visit the area, if at all. Due to the absence of regular cleaning, garbage continues to accumulate in streets and public spaces, posing a serious threat of the spread of infectious diseases.

Residents Forced to Clean Their Own Streets

According to the residents, the Municipal Corporation’s negligence has forced them to clean their own streets. They are also compelled to collect and transport garbage to designated dumping points themselves—a responsibility that rightfully belongs to the civic body. They said that administrative apathy has left ordinary citizens with no option but to perform duties meant for municipal employees.

Demand for Regular Sanitation Services

Through the cleanliness campaign, the residents sought to draw the attention of Municipal Corporation officials and public representatives to the area’s deteriorating sanitation conditions. They demanded the immediate deployment of regular sanitation workers and the establishment of an efficient waste management system in Kadipur Enclave so that residents can finally be relieved from the persistent problems of filth and poor civic maintenance.
