Kanpur: In a major boost to Kanpur’s infrastructure, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, has approved the construction of a four-lane elevated corridor from Ramadevi to Gol Chauraha on the old National Highway-91. The ambitious project, estimated at ₹988.30 crore, aims to ease traffic congestion and improve road safety in the city. The 10.16-kilometer elevated corridor will pass over 16 railway crossings, which currently cause significant traffic snarls. By allowing uninterrupted traffic flow over these busy urban junctions, the corridor is expected to considerably reduce congestion on NH-91, shortening travel time and enhancing road safety within Kanpur’s urban areas.
