

Ujjain: Talented chess player Charvi Mehta from Ujjain delivered an impressive performance at the International Classical FIDE-Rated Chess Tournament held in Vadodara, Gujarat, securing the silver medal by finishing second in the women’s category. Her remarkable achievement has brought pride and joy to the city.
The prestigious tournament witnessed the participation of approximately 470 players from across the country. Conducted in accordance with FIDE regulations, the competition followed the Swiss system and consisted of nine rounds.
Organized with the support of the Jyoti Foundation, the tournament saw Charvi score 5.5 points, enabling her to secure second place in the women’s category and earn the silver medal.
Charvi received her initial chess training under national player Jayesh Khatri. She is currently enhancing her skills through online coaching with some of the country’s distinguished chess trainers.
Her outstanding achievement has been widely appreciated by the chess fraternity, sports enthusiasts, and the people of Ujjain, who have congratulated her and wished her continued success. Charvi’s accomplishment serves as an inspiration for young and aspiring chess players.
