Five Eminent Personalities to be Honoured with the ‘Azad–Tilak Award’ on the Birth Anniversaries of Chandrashekhar Azad and Lokmanya Tilak

Indore: A grand commemorative ceremony will be held in Indore on Thursday, July 23, 2026, to mark the 120th birth anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad and the 170th birth anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, the great nationalist leader who proclaimed, “Swaraj is my birthright, and I shall have it.” On this occasion, five distinguished personalities from the city will be honoured with the prestigious “Azad–Tilak Award” for their outstanding contributions to society.

The programme is being jointly organized by the Netaji Subhash Manch, Shri Gita Rameshwaram Trust, and the All India Freedom Fighters’ Descendants Organization. The event will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Indian Coffee House, Police Superintendent Office Campus, Regal Square, Indore.

The ceremony will be presided over by Satyanarayan Patel, National Secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC). During the event, tributes will be paid to the great freedom fighters, and participants will reaffirm their commitment to the ideals of patriotism, sacrifice, and national service.

Sharing details of the programme, Madan Parmaliya, State President of the Netaji Subhash Manch, and Vinod Satyanarayan Patel, President of the Shri Gita Rameshwaram Trust, announced that this year’s Azad–Tilak Award will be conferred upon five eminent personalities in recognition of their exceptional service to society.

The awardees are Hockey Coach Ashok Yadav, Educationist Omprakash Dhiman, Social Worker Rajendra Soni, Social Worker Seema Sen, and Social Worker Hukam Yadav.

The organizers stated that these distinguished individuals have made remarkable contributions in the fields of social service, education, sports, and public welfare, and the honour is being presented in recognition of their lifelong dedication and commitment to society.

The event is expected to be attended by prominent citizens, social activists, educationists, descendants of freedom fighters, and representatives of various organizations from across the city.
