SC Commission Chairman Reviews Rural Development Works at District Panchayat

Officials Directed to Ensure Effective Implementation of Welfare Schemes and Overall Development of Scheduled Caste Communities

Shivpuri, July 21 (Sadvarta): Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh State Scheduled Caste Commission, Dr. Kailash Jatav, reviewed various government welfare schemes and rural development initiatives during a meeting with departmental officials at the District Panchayat office in Shivpuri on Tuesday, the second day of his two-day visit to the district.

During the meeting, Dr. Kailash Jatav conducted a detailed review of schemes being implemented for the upliftment of the Scheduled Caste community. He took information regarding the status of self-help groups of Scheduled Caste members in the district, bank linkages, revolving funds, and the functioning of Lok Adhikar Centres.

He also reviewed the status of houses sanctioned and constructed for Scheduled Caste beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), employment opportunities being provided to SC workers under the VB-GRAMJI scheme, and cleanliness campaigns being conducted in Scheduled Caste settlements under the Swachh Bharat Mission before the monsoon season.

The Commission Chairman also reviewed development works in Scheduled Caste settlements, including roads, electricity supply, drinking water facilities, tap water connections, drainage systems, and other basic infrastructure projects.

Dr. Kailash Jatav issued strict instructions to officials to ensure effective implementation of schemes for the overall development of the Scheduled Caste community. He directed that the data of self-help groups should be continuously updated, and “Before and After Income Reports” should be prepared to assess the economic condition of members before and after joining these groups. He also emphasized establishing proper packaging and marketing arrangements for products made by these groups.

Regarding the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), he instructed officials to provide information about approved houses directly to beneficiaries through transparent and systematic communication. Expressing concern over the lower employment percentage of SC workers under the VB-GRAMJI (Rural Scheme), he directed officials to increase their participation in employment opportunities.

He also instructed authorities to improve the quality of mid-day meals, drinking water facilities, and other educational arrangements in primary and secondary schools.

Dr. Jatav further directed officials to conduct regular surveys of Scheduled Caste settlements and keep the data updated. He instructed Janpad CEOs to submit a report to the Commission within 15 days regarding development works related to roads, electricity, water supply, tap-water drainage, and other facilities in SC settlements.

He also directed SDMs and CEOs to hold joint meetings and ensure speedy resolution of pending cases related to the Scheduled Caste community on a priority basis.
