Three Accused Arrested, Car Used in Smuggling Also Seized

In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) Jodhpur and Dhorimanna Police carried out a joint operation in Balotra district, Rajasthan, seizing 8,170 intoxicant tablets, ₹1,78,500 in cash, believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales, and a car used for transportation. Three accused have been arrested in connection with the case.
Superintendent of Police, Balotra, Rajesh Kumar Kawat (IPS) said the operation was conducted as part of a special campaign against narcotics launched under the directions of Inspector General of Police, Jodhpur Range, Satyendra Singh (IPS). The action was carried out under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police Harphool Singh (RPS) and Circle Officer Gudamalani Sukharam (RPS), with Station House Officer Dalpat Singh leading the Dhorimanna Police team in coordination with the ATS Jodhpur Unit.
8,170 Intoxicant Tablets Recovered During Vehicle Search
According to police, on July 21, 2026, a joint ATS and Dhorimanna Police team intercepted a car bearing registration number RJ-22-TA-3833 in Dhorimanna town.
As the occupants failed to produce valid vehicle documents, the car was detained under Section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police recovered 8,170 intoxicant tablets along with ₹1,78,500 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from the illegal sale of narcotic tablets.
The vehicle used for transporting the contraband was also seized.
Three Accused Arrested
The police arrested the following three accused:
- Mahendra Vaharade (51), son of Prabhakar Vaharade, a medical practitioner, resident of Hithawala Prabhushree Apartment, Pula, Udaipur.
- Kapil Ametha (34), son of Sukhlal Ametha, resident of Dhayla, Rajsamand district, presently residing at Bhairavnagar, Bedwas, Udaipur.
- Chhotu Singh Rajput (49), son of Bhopal Singh Rajput, a driver, resident of Sabalpura, presently residing at Balaji Vihar, Eklingpura, Udaipur.
Case Registered Under NDPS Act
Police have registered a case against the accused under Sections 8/22 and 25 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Further investigation is underway to identify the source of the narcotic tablets, the supply chain and other persons involved in the illegal drug trafficking network.
