Innovative Initiative to Realise Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s Vision of a Malnutrition-Free District

In line with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s resolve to make Indore district free from malnutrition, the district administration has launched the “Suposhan Sankalp Abhiyan” (Nutrition Commitment Campaign). As part of the campaign, Collector Shivam Verma distributed 1,000 nutrition kits to children suffering from Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM).

The initiative has been undertaken jointly by the Women and Child Development Department and the Sahayata Sanstha.

Each nutrition kit has been specially designed to meet children’s nutritional requirements and includes rajgira (amaranth) laddoos, dried coconut balls, sattu flour, one kilogram of dates, sesame brittle (tilpatti), and other nutritious food items. Each kit is valued at approximately ₹500 and has been prepared in accordance with the nutritional standards prescribed by the Union Ministry of Health.

The campaign aims to improve the nutritional status of severely malnourished children aged between six months and six years, helping them attain normal health and ensuring a healthier future for children across the district.

On the occasion, Collector Shivam Verma said that all concerned departments are working in close coordination to make Indore a malnutrition-free district in accordance with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s vision. He directed officials of the Women and Child Development Department to work with compassion and ensure regular follow-up of severely malnourished children to improve their health and nutritional status.

Dr. Anil Bhandari of Sahayata Sanstha explained that the project aims to bring rapid improvement in the health of severely malnourished children through balanced and nutritious food.

The programme was attended by Women and Child Development Department Programme Officer Rajneesh Sinha, Dr. Anil Bhandari of Sahayata Sanstha, departmental officials, field workers, and other concerned officers.

Registration Camp Organised Under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana

Eligible Workers Aged 18 to 40 Years Can Enrol for the Pension Scheme

A registration camp is being organised at the Office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner in Indore under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana, a Government of India initiative aimed at providing social security to workers in the unorganised sector.

According to the Assistant Labour Commissioner, eligible workers aged 18 to 40 years can enrol in the scheme by contributing as little as ₹55 per month. Upon attaining the age of 60 years, beneficiaries become eligible to receive a monthly pension. The Government of India contributes an amount equal to the worker’s monthly contribution.

Workers who are not registered under the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) or the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) and whose monthly income is up to ₹15,000 are eligible to enrol under the scheme.

Interested workers may visit the registration camp at the Office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Devi Ahilya Marg, Indore, to complete the enrolment process. Registration can also be done through Common Service Centres (CSCs) or MP Online Centres.
