Chess Star Charvi Mehta to be Honored with Jain Vibhuti Alankaran in Mumbai

Mumbai to Host Grand Ceremony by Jain Samaj’s 108 Group on July 26

Ujjain: India’s top-ranked para chess player Charvi Mehta will be honored with the prestigious Jain Vibhuti Alankaran at a grand ceremony organized by the 108 Group of the Jain community in Mumbai on July 26.

A four-time National Women’s Para Chess Champion, Charvi Mehta is the first chess player from Madhya Pradesh to represent India at the Asian Para Games, bringing pride to her city, state, and the nation. She further strengthened India’s position on the global stage by winning three medals in the Classical, Rapid, and Blitz categories at the 24th World Individual Chess Championship.

Charvi is the daughter of Dr. Ashish Mehta, an International Mallakhamb Umpire and recipient of the Vikram Award and Vishwamitra Award, and Engineer Tarushree Mehta.

Notably, Charvi delivered an outstanding performance at the Asian Para Games in China, finishing fourth in both chess formats while representing India with distinction. She has also earned the remarkable distinction of being the National Women’s Para Chess Champion for four consecutive years.

Currently, Charvi is a Class XI student at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ujjain, where she continues to balance academic excellence with her sporting achievements.

The Jain Vibhuti Alankaran recognizes Charvi’s exceptional contributions to Indian para sports and celebrates her inspiring journey as one of the country’s most accomplished para chess players.
