New Rule for E-Rickshaw Drivers in Ghaziabad: Strict Action for Vehicles Without QR Code from January 1
Ghaziabad – In a move aimed at enhancing women’s safety, controlling crime, and streamlining city traffic, the Ghaziabad Police have made it mandatory for all e-rickshaws to carry a unique QR code. Starting January 1, 2026, drivers operating e-rickshaws without this QR code will face strict legal action under the Motor Vehicles Act.
Mandatory QR Code SystemUnder the new system, each e-rickshaw will be assigned a unique QR code, which, when scanned, will instantly provide the driver’s name, photograph, mobile number, and vehicle registration details. This ensures that passengers have access to authentic driver information and allows the police to take immediate action in case of accidents or criminal incidents.
