High Court Orders Protection for Newlyweds Facing Threats Over Inter-Caste Marriage in Damoh
Damoh, Madhya Pradesh: A love story from Hatta in Damoh district has escalated to the doors of the High Court after a newlywed couple faced serious threats for marrying of their own free will. Sayan Agrawal and Arya Mishra solemnized their marriage according to Hindu rituals on December 29, but the bride’s family has reportedly opposed the union, issuing threats to burn Sayan’s shop and implicate him in false criminal cases.
Responding to a petition filed by the couple, the Jabalpur High Court directed the Damoh Superintendent of Police to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety and freedom of the newlyweds.
