The weather in Uttarakhand is showing signs of change once again. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the state will witness dry conditions on Thursday. Clear skies and sunlight during the day are expected to bring warmth, while dense fog may continue to affect the plains. Districts such as Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar, Dehradun, Pauri, and Nainital may experience localized dense fog. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for fog in these areas. Meanwhile, a yellow alert for frost has been issued for the hilly regions. From Friday onward, a change in weather is anticipated, with a fresh spell of rainfall likely.

Uttarakhand has experienced dry conditions over the past two days. Light rainfall in the hilly regions has maintained cold weather, while the plains have started to feel warmer under bright sunlight during the day. However, mornings and evenings remain cold. Recent snowfall in the mountainous areas has also contributed to lower temperatures, whereas the plains are gradually warming up. There remains a significant difference between maximum and minimum temperatures across the state.

Temperature Details

  • Dehradun: Max 23.6°C, Min 8.8°C
  • Pantnagar: Max 18.0°C, Min 9.6°C
  • Mukteshwar: Max 14.2°C, Min 2.2°C
  • New Tehri: Max 13.5°C, Min 2.2°C

Weather Change Expected from 6 February

Outlook for 7–10 February

The state is likely to remain dry on 7 and 8 February. However, a fresh weather system is expected on 9 and 10 February, bringing the possibility of light rainfall and snowfall in the hilly regions. The IMD also indicates that minimum temperatures across Uttarakhand are unlikely to change significantly over the next two to three days.
