Chief Minister Inaugurates One Arm of Madhya Pradesh’s First Double-Layer Flyover Bridge

₹175-Crore Project Showcases Modern Technology and Advanced Engineering

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated one arm of Madhya Pradesh’s first double-layer flyover bridge in Indore on Thursday, marking a major milestone in the state’s infrastructure development.

Speaking at the inauguration of the ₹175-crore flyover at Lav Kush Square, the Chief Minister described the project as an outstanding example of modern technology and advanced engineering. He said that Indore and development are synonymous, adding that the state is witnessing rapid all-round development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dr. Yadav said the flyover will play a significant role in ensuring smooth traffic movement on the Indore-Ujjain corridor, particularly in view of Simhastha-2028. The project is expected to reduce travel time, save fuel, ease traffic congestion and provide safer and more convenient transportation for commuters.

He said the project represents a major infrastructure achievement in the journey towards a Developed Indore and a Developed Madhya Pradesh, and will become a new symbol of modern urban development in the coming years.

Three-Level Traffic System

The Chief Minister highlighted that the most distinctive feature of the project is its three-tier traffic system. The first level will accommodate regular traffic at Lav Kush Square, the second level consists of the existing flyover along with the Metro Rail Corridor, while the third level is the newly constructed double-layer flyover.

This arrangement will significantly reduce traffic pressure at the intersection and ensure uninterrupted vehicular movement.

The flyover, constructed by the Indore Development Authority, is approximately 1,450 metres long. It features two 400-tonne steel bow-string girders, each spanning 65 metres in length and 24 metres in width, installed at a height of 22 metres. A total of 800 tonnes of steel has been used, making it one of the state’s most significant engineering achievements.

The project also includes widening of slip roads, at-grade roads and service roads, installation of modern lighting for roads and junctions, and landscaping and horticulture work to enhance the aesthetics of the flyover and surrounding green belts.

With one arm of the flyover now operational, traffic from Aurobindo Hospital towards Banganga has commenced. Construction of the second arm is in its final phase and will be opened shortly.

Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, MLAs Ramesh Mendola, Golu Shukla and Sumit Mishra, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Sudam Khade, Inspector General of Police Anurag, Police Commissioner Santosh Kumar Singh, Collector Shivam Verma, Indore Development Authority CEO Dr. Parikshit Jhade and other dignitaries attended the programme.

Uniform Civil Code Receives Widespread Public Support

The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has received widespread support from representatives of various religious communities and social organisations across Madhya Pradesh.

On the arrival of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav in Indore, representatives of different faiths and several social organisations gathered at the airport to welcome him and express their gratitude for the state’s decision to implement the Uniform Civil Code.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said the objective of the Uniform Civil Code is to ensure equal rights and equal justice for all citizens. He stated that the initiative is in line with the fundamental spirit of the Constitution and represents an important step towards strengthening social harmony, equality and justice.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government remains committed to protecting the interests of every section of society and ensuring equal opportunities for all.

Expressing gratitude for the public support, Dr. Yadav said that the confidence and cooperation shown by various communities and organisations would further strengthen inclusive development and social harmony in the state.
