Hardoi: Female Constable Found Dead at Home, Three-Month-Old Daughter Left Behind

Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh: In a shocking incident, a female constable was found hanging at her residence in Hardoi on Wednesday evening, sending shockwaves through the local community. The constable was currently posted in Lucknow. Authorities and field units reached the scene immediately, and the body has been sent for post-mortem examination.

The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Preeti, a 2021-batch police officer originally from Bareilly. She was serving at Indira Nagar police station in Lucknow. Preeti belonged to the Dalit community and had married Saurabh Srivastava, a fellow Bareilly resident, about 12 years ago in a love marriage. Due to familial disagreements over their marriage, the couple, along with their daughter, had relocated to Hardoi and were living in the house of Saurabh’s uncle.

Tragically, Preeti had given birth to a daughter just three months ago. No suicide note was recovered from the scene, leaving the motive behind this horrifying act unclear.

Police are investigating all angles to determine whether domestic pressures or other undisclosed factors contributed to her death. City CO Ankit Mishra stated that further legal action will follow based on post-mortem findings and evidence gathered. Family members have maintained a distance from the media amid the ongoing investigation.
