Ane Singh’s ‘Immortal’ Legacy: Left the World, But Gave New Life to Three Patients

Jodhpur, Rajasthan: The first cadaveric organ donation of 2026 at AIIMS Jodhpur has brought hope and happiness to three families, thanks to the courageous decision of Ane Singh, a 58-year-old from Pali. Following his brain death, Singh’s family opted for organ donation, creating a remarkable example of humanity. A kidney from Singh was transported to SMS Hospital, Jaipur via a specially coordinated green corridor, ensuring timely transplantation.

From Unconsciousness to Brain Death

A resident of Khokhra village in Pali, Ane Singh suddenly fell unconscious at home on 19 January. He was initially treated at a local hospital in Pali and later referred to AIIMS Jodhpur. Despite the best efforts of the doctors, there was no improvement, and Singh was declared brain dead. Following this, the transplant team approached his family, who bravely agreed to donate his organs.

“He may be gone, but will live in others”

Singh’s son, Puran Singh, shared, “When we realized that father could no longer be saved, our family decided to donate his organs. We feel proud that his organs will light up someone else’s home.” With this act, AIIMS Jodhpur successfully completed its 11th cadaveric organ donation.

Green Corridor Ensures Timely Transplant

One of Ane Singh’s kidneys and his liver were transplanted to two patients admitted at AIIMS Jodhpur. Another kidney was sent to SMS Hospital, Jaipur. The Jodhpur traffic police and district administration collaborated to create a green corridor, allowing the ambulance to reach Jaipur without any delay, ensuring the life-saving transplant was performed on time.

Ane Singh’s final act of generosity serves as a powerful reminder of how selfless decisions can give hope and a new lease of life to others.
