Chennai,:The ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) on Monday took a sharp swipe at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) founder and actor-turned-politician Vijay over his remark that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin would ask people to vote for his party.
Reacting to Vijay’s statement, DMK spokesperson T K S Elangovan dismissed the claim as unrealistic and sarcastically described it as a “fantastic creation of Vijay’s imagination.”
In a scathing rebuttal, Elangovan remarked that Vijay had allegedly played a major role in the state’s development. “Tamil Nadu is number one in GDP because of Vijay. Everyone is getting educated because of him. He has done so many good things for the people of Tamil Nadu,” Elangovan said sarcastically.
He added that even in his dreams, Vijay imagines the chief minister appealing to voters on his behalf. “While he is sleeping soundly, he thinks the chief minister will ask people to vote for him. What a fantastic thing of his brain,” the DMK leader said.
The comments underline the escalating political sparring in Tamil Nadu following Vijay’s entry into active politics and his recent remarks targeting the ruling party.
