New Delhi, July 22 (SDNA): The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar is gradually emerging as a focal point of national political and social discourse. What began as a social media-driven initiative is now expanding with support from opposition parties, social activists, leaders of regional movements, and several civil society organisations.

The movement is centered on issues concerning students, youth, and matters of public interest. Social activist Sonam Wangchuk continues his protest at Jantar Mantar, while supporters from different parts of the country have been arriving at the venue to express solidarity.

In a significant development, Maratha reservation movement leader Manoj Jarange Patil also reached Jantar Mantar on Wednesday and extended his support to the CJP-led protest. Several representatives from social organisations and people’s movements have already joined the campaign.

Meanwhile, speculation has intensified on social media that if the movement continues to gain momentum, veteran social activist Anna Hazare, who led India’s Jan Lokpal movement, may also extend his support in the future. However, there has been no official announcement or confirmation from Anna Hazare regarding his participation in the protest or his visit to Jantar Mantar.

Political observers believe that if the movement continues to receive support from organisations and activists across different states, it could emerge as a significant issue in national politics in the coming months.

The key question now is whether the Central Government will initiate formal dialogue with the protesters or whether the movement will evolve into a prolonged standoff similar to other major public agitations witnessed in recent years. The government’s response and the future course of the protest are being closely watched across the country.
