Director Sudipto Sen explained that the inspiration for the film came from a creative desire to present India’s mystical and tantric world as a global cinematic experience. The story dives deep into human psychology, showing ordinary people grappling with mysterious circumstances and moral dilemmas, set against the backdrop of a traditional yet horrifying festival, while also creating a universal emotional impact.

The film is directed by Shiladitya Maulik, presented by PEN Studios, produced in collaboration with Sudipto Sen Productions, and co-produced by Rajesh Bhatt.
