‘Dhurandhar’ Outshines Kapil Sharma Show on OTT, Tops Netflix Global List with 7.6 Million Views; ‘Tere Ishq Mein’ in Top 3

Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Dhurandhar continues its record-breaking streak, dominating not just at the box office but also on OTT platforms. The film, which grossed over ₹1,300 crore in theaters, has now topped Netflix’s global list, proving its universal appeal.

Netflix Domination
Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, was released on Netflix on 30 January. Within its first week, the film climbed to number one on Netflix’s “Top 10 Global Non-English Films” list. Anand L. Rai’s Tere Ishq Mein also remains in the top rankings for its second consecutive week, while Imran Hashmi’s Taskari continues its three-week streak on the global top 10 non-English TV shows list. In contrast, Kapil Sharma’s The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 5 struggled, failing to make a significant impact on the list.

Initially, viewers noted that the Netflix runtime was shorter than the theatrical release. This adjustment removed references to Baloch issues but retained all other scenes, including public service messages. With a runtime of 3 hours and 26 minutes, Dhurandhar has already become the most-streamed non-English film globally for the week.

OTT Viewership Figures
The film has amassed 7.6 million views, with a total watch time of 26.1 million hours. Netflix calculates views by dividing total hours watched by the runtime of the film, meaning view counts do not directly represent the number of viewers.

‘Tere Ishq Mein’ Maintains Top-3 Position
Anand L. Rai’s Tere Ishq Mein, which earned ₹161.96 crore at the worldwide box office, continues to perform strongly on Netflix. The film is now ranked third on the list, garnering 4.4 million views this week and totaling 12.1 million viewing hours, compared to last week’s 3.8 million views and 10.5 million hours.

Kapil Sharma Show Faces Decline
Netflix launched the fifth season of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Tuesday. Despite high-profile guests like Aditi Rao Hydari, Vijay Sethupathi, Siddharth Jadhav, and AR Rahman, the show experienced its lowest viewership ever. Of the seven episodes released, only one made it to the “Top 10 Global Non-English TV Shows” list, marking a significant drop from previous seasons.

‘Taskari’ Holds Strong
Imran Hashmi’s Taskari remains popular, holding the third position on the global non-English TV shows list for the third consecutive week, with 1.7 million views and 9.2 million viewing hours.

Understanding Netflix’s Global List
Netflix’s global rankings cover content available in over 190 countries, updated weekly every Tuesday. The lists are categorized separately for English and non-English films and TV shows, based on total hours viewed.
