Patna: The Bhorey Assembly constituency in Gopalganj, Bihar, witnessed a triangular contest in the 2025 Bihar Assembly Elections. The Janata Dal (United) [JDU] candidate Sunil Kumar, who is also the state’s current Education Minister, emerged victorious, defeating Preeti Kinnar of Jan Suraj Party and CPI (ML) (L) candidate Dhananjay.
Election Outcome
After 26 rounds of counting, Sunil Kumar secured 101,469 votes, leading Preeti Kinnar by 16,163 votes. This victory reflects the continuing dominance of JDU in the region, while marking a historic contest as the Jan Suraj Party fielded a transgender candidate for this SC-reserved seat.
