Gurugram, Haryana: When Dutch traveler and solo biker Mieke Hijman embarked on her journey through rural India, she did not anticipate experiencing such heartfelt hospitality. During her visit to a village in Haryana, Mieke approached an elderly woman working in the fields, asking if she could pitch her tent there for the night. Though the woman did not speak English, she called her son Tushar Gujjar to help with translation, turning a simple request into a touching gesture of Indian warmth.
Mieke, who is exploring India on her motorcycle, explained she was looking for a safe spot to camp overnight. When the woman asked if she was alone, Mieke confirmed she was traveling solo.
