Yamunanagar, Haryana: A dangerous combination of alcohol, high speed, and khaki turned a busy street in Yamunanagar into a scene straight out of an action film. On Station Road, a car reportedly driven by a police officer lost control and collided with six vehicles in seconds, causing panic among residents and shopkeepers. Four cars were severely damaged, and two scooters were also hit. Fortunately, no one was physically injured, though the incident could have been deadly.
Caught on CCTV
The entire episode was captured on CCTV cameras. The footage clearly shows the car speeding out of control, hitting one vehicle after another. Locals claimed that the driver was not a civilian but a police officer allegedly under the influence of alcohol. The reckless combination of high speed and intoxication threw the neighborhood into chaos, with people screaming and fleeing in fear.
Police Response and Investigation
Police arrived promptly at the scene, assessed the damage, and collected CCTV footage from nearby establishments. An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances and accountability for the incident.
Questions Raised
The case has sparked outrage and serious questions: if ordinary citizens are routinely tested for drunk driving, who monitors police officers themselves? The incident raises concerns about public safety and the integrity of those entrusted with enforcing the law. All eyes are now on the police department, as the public awaits strict action rather than another case lost in bureaucratic procedures.
