Major Action by Balotra Police

Tanker Filled with Flammable Chemical, Drums, and Equipment Seized; Two Accused Arrested

Balotra, May 12, 2026:
Balotra Police has taken major action against illegal activities and the unlawful trade of hazardous flammable chemicals by seizing a tanker filled with flammable chemicals, chemical-filled drums, and other related materials, while also arresting two accused persons. The operation was carried out as part of a special campaign against illegal activities being conducted in residential areas.

Superintendent of Police Ramesh IPS stated that a special अभियान is being conducted across the district to curb illegal activities and take strict legal action against those involved in unlawful businesses. Under this campaign, the Balotra Police Station team carried out the operation under the supervision of the Additional Superintendent of Police and Circle Officer, Balotra.

Acting on specific information, the police team conducted a raid in a residential area and detained the accused, Devaram and Vikramsingh. During the operation, the police seized a tanker filled with flammable chemicals, drums containing chemicals stored inside a room, salt used in the chemical mixture, and a water motor used for filling the chemicals into vehicles.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused used to bring tankers filled with flammable chemicals from Gujarat for supply to factories located in Balotra. With the intention of earning illegal profits, a portion of the chemicals from the tanker was unloaded into drums at a location within the residential area. The accused allegedly mixed water and salt with the chemicals to increase the quantity and then sold the adulterated material to various factories through different vehicles for illegal financial gain.

Police further stated that on May 10, 2026, the accused had again brought a tanker filled with flammable chemicals into the residential area and were preparing to transfer the chemicals into drums for the same illegal purpose. A case has been registered, and a detailed investigation is currently underway.

  • Devaram, son of Asuram, resident of Kumpaliya, Gida Police Station area, Balotra district
  • Vikramsingh, son of Mangusingh, resident of Tapra, Jasol Police Station area, Balotra district

Police Team Involved

Several officers and personnel of Balotra Police Station played an important role in the successful operation. The police department stated that strict action against illegal and hazardous activities will continue in the future as well.
