Administration Takes Strict Action on Black Spots Along Indore–Ichhapur Road

Joint Inspection Conducted at Bherughat and Baygram Areas; Directions Issued for Road Safety Improvements

Indore, May 12, 2026:
Taking serious note of the increasing road accidents and traffic-related issues on the Indore–Ichhapur Road, a joint team of administrative and police officials conducted a detailed inspection of the black spot areas at Bherughat and Baygram on Tuesday. During the inspection, several important measures were discussed to strengthen road safety arrangements and effectively control accidents.

The joint inspection was carried out under the leadership of Superintendent of Police Rajendra Kumar Verma. The inspection team included Deputy Superintendent of Police Umakant Choudhary, Traffic Deputy Superintendent of Police Nilin Singh, RI Yogendra Singh Bhati, along with officials from the National Highways Authority of India, including Abhishek Singh and Jitendra Singh, as well as officers from other concerned departments.

During the inspection, the officials closely examined the condition of the roads, sharp turns, availability of signboards, lighting arrangements, accident-prone locations, and the movement of heavy vehicles in the Bherughat and Baygram areas.

Superintendent of Police Rajendra Kumar Verma directed the concerned departmental officials to initiate the required improvement works in accident-prone areas on a priority basis. He instructed the authorities to install safety barricades along the roadside, place proper warning and directional signboards, ensure adequate lighting arrangements for better visibility during nighttime, and take effective measures for traffic management.

The administration and NHAI officials assured that all necessary road safety improvement works would be initiated at the earliest to provide the public with safe, smooth, and well-organized transportation facilities.
