Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh – In a shocking case of deceit and sexual exploitation, a man named Imran lured a woman by posing as ‘Sonu’. He allegedly manipulated her into separating from her husband, lived with her in a cohabitation setup, and exploited her sexually for five years. When the woman confronted him about marriage, he allegedly threatened to kill her.
Criminal History and Legal Action
The accused, Imran (son of Mammad Hussain), resident of Sarai town, has a previous record of drug trafficking and is currently out on bail. Following the victim’s complaint, the Industrial Area Police in Ratlam registered a case under Sections 64(1), 64(2)(m), and 351(3) of the Indian Penal Code.
How the Deception Unfolded
The victim stated that she first met a young man in 2020 near the Ram Mandir area, who introduced himself as Sonu. Later, she got married elsewhere. In June 2023, Imran re-established contact and persuaded her to leave her husband. By July 2023, the woman had returned to her parental home after separating from her spouse.
From September 14, 2023, the couple lived together in rented accommodations in Nayagaon and later Anand Colony, posing as husband and wife. During this period, the woman discovered through his phone that ‘Sonu’ was actually Imran and that he was Muslim. She finalized her divorce on 8 November 2024. When she inquired about marriage, Imran refused and continued the relationship deceitfully.
Recent Threats and Investigation
On 26 December 2025, when the woman resisted further advances, Imran allegedly threatened her life. Authorities have emphasized that Imran is a habitual offender; two months ago, he and his associate, Kayamuddin, were arrested by Station Road Police for possession of 3.7 grams of illegal MD drugs. Imran has also previously held the post of District Vice President of the BJP Minority Front, from which he was later removed.
The police are actively searching for Imran in connection with the ongoing rape and exploitation case.
