Father and 14-Year-Old Daughter Found Dead on Kanpur-Lucknow Railway Track; White Car Parked Nearby Raises Alarm

Unnao, Uttar Pradesh: A shocking discovery on Monday night sent tremors through the local community when the bodies of a 45-year-old man and his 14-year-old daughter were found on the Kanpur-Lucknow railway track near Sahjani Railway Crossing in the Gangaghat police jurisdiction.

The gruesome sight caused a temporary halt of the Tejas and Gomti Express trains for nearly 30 minutes. Both victims have been identified as a father and daughter residing in Sahjani, though the father’s in-laws live in Kanpur’s Kalyanpur area.

Details of the Incident

According to local authorities, the bodies were discovered around 9 PM by the crossing gatekeeper, who immediately alerted railway and local police teams. Both police units inspected the scene, secured the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examination.

A white car parked near the railway track was also noted at the scene. While investigations are ongoing, initial police reports suggest the incident may have been a result of a family dispute, leading the father and daughter to allegedly commit suicide by stepping in front of a train.

Police Statement

SSI Dilip Prajapati of Gangaghat police stated:

“The bodies have been identified as a father and daughter. They were residents of Sahjani and previously from Kalyanpur in Kanpur. The preliminary investigation points to a possible familial conflict, which may have led to this tragic act.”

The investigation is continuing to confirm the circumstances surrounding the deaths, including the presence of the white car and any other relevant evidence.

This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, raising concerns about family disputes and mental health awareness.
