Class 12 Student Kidnapped from Classroom in Barmer, Brutally Assaulted; Nails Torn Out, Teeth Broken

Barmer: In a shocking daylight crime that has sent tremors across Rajasthan, a Class 12 student was allegedly kidnapped from his classroom just minutes before his board examination and subjected to brutal torture in Barmer district.

The incident occurred in Jaisar village on Monday morning at a government senior secondary school, moments before the Political Science board exam was scheduled to begin at 8:30 am. According to eyewitnesses, at around 8:05 am, four men arrived in a camper vehicle, stormed into the school campus, and forcibly entered the classroom.

Dragged 100 Metres from Classroom

The accused allegedly grabbed the student in front of teachers and classmates. When staff members attempted to intervene, they were threatened with dire consequences. The assailants reportedly dragged the student nearly 100 metres from the classroom to the school’s main gate before forcing him into the vehicle and fleeing the scene.

The brazen act, carried out in broad daylight within school premises, has raised serious concerns about campus security during board examinations.

Tortured in Deserted Dunes

Police said the accused drove the student nearly 10 kilometres away to isolated sand dunes. There, the teenager was allegedly beaten with sticks for about half an hour in what officials described as a “gruesome assault.”

In an act of extreme cruelty, the attackers reportedly tore out the student’s fingernails and broke his teeth before abandoning him in a severely injured condition in the desert.

Upon receiving information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to the Barmer District Hospital, where he is undergoing treatment.

Revenge Over ‘Intervention’

Barmer Superintendent of Police Narendra Singh confirmed the arrest of four primary accused — Naranram, Bajrang, Tejpal, and Laxman, all residents of Jaisar village.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that the attack was allegedly driven by revenge. According to police, last Saturday, a fight had broken out between two other students at the same school. The victim had intervened to defuse the situation. The accused reportedly took offense to his intervention and conspired to “teach him a lesson” on the day of his board examination.

Education Department Seeks Report

The incident has sparked outrage among parents and residents, raising serious questions about school safety and administrative preparedness during examinations. District Education Officer Devaram has sought a detailed report from the Block Education Officer regarding the security arrangements at the school.

Authorities have indicated that strict action will be taken if any negligence on the part of school staff is established.

The chilling episode has created an atmosphere of fear among students and parents in Barmer, while police continue to investigate whether more individuals were involved in the crime.
