
Agra, February 23, 2026: In a heartwarming incident that has captured public attention, a newlywed bride arrived at the Vikas Bhawan in Agra in her wedding attire to attend an Anganwadi recruitment interview—just hours after completing her marriage rituals.
The unusual yet inspiring scene left onlookers surprised as the bride, Anisha, walked into the government office dressed in her bridal outfit to complete document verification for the post of Anganwadi Assistant under the Child Development Department.
Call Came a Day Before the Wedding
Anisha, a resident of Ladukheda village, had applied for the Anganwadi Assistant position before her wedding. On the day of her marriage, she received a phone call informing her to report for document verification at Vikas Bhawan in Sanjay Place on Sunday.
After informing her husband, Manoj Kushwaha, about the call, the couple decided not to let the opportunity slip away.
Groom Drives 32 Kilometres After Wedding Rituals
Manoj, who runs a cyber café in his village, completed the wedding rituals and immediately drove his bride nearly 32 kilometres to the development office so she could attend the verification process without delay.
“I will always stand by my wife and help fulfil her dreams,” Manoj told the media, earning widespread appreciation on social media for his supportive gesture.
A Love Story That Began at a Cyber Café
The couple’s marriage is a love union. Manoj revealed that Anisha frequently visited his cyber café to fill out forms and complete online applications. Their friendship gradually blossomed into love, and with the consent of both families, they tied the knot on Sunday.
Bride Pursuing Graduation
Anisha, who is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts (BA), said she had applied for the Anganwadi post before her wedding.
“Right after completing the wedding rituals, I came here first. I have not yet gone to my in-laws’ house. I will leave for my new home after finishing the document verification,” she said.
The incident has drawn praise across social media platforms, with many users calling it a symbol of changing social attitudes and supportive partnerships in rural India.
