

Aligarh, February 23, 2026: A dramatic incident outside a police station in Aligarh has gone viral on social media, showing a woman in a red saree and veil repeatedly beating an alleged harasser with her slippers while her husband restrained him.
The incident reportedly took place in the Gangiri area, where the woman had arrived at the local police station with her husband to lodge a complaint against a youth from her village who had allegedly been harassing her regularly.
Confrontation Outside the Police Station
According to reports, while the couple was at the police station to file a complaint, the accused youth happened to pass by on a motorcycle. Spotting him, the woman and her husband reportedly chased him down, pulled him off the bike, and confronted him outside the station premises.
In a video that has since circulated widely online, the woman is seen striking the youth repeatedly with her slippers while her husband holds his hands down. Eyewitnesses claim that within approximately 30 seconds, the woman hit him around 25 times with her slippers and kicked him several times as he tried to shield himself on the ground.
Bystanders present at the scene did not intervene during the altercation.
Police Response
Circle Officer Sanjeev Tomar stated that the woman was allegedly frustrated due to the youth’s repeated misconduct. Police reached the spot shortly after receiving information and took the accused into custody.
Officials confirmed that no written complaint had been submitted by the woman at the time of reporting. Consequently, the youth has been booked under preventive sections related to breach of peace. Authorities added that appropriate legal action will be taken if a formal complaint is filed.

The video has sparked intense debate online, with some praising the woman’s bold response against alleged harassment, while others have raised concerns about taking the law into one’s own hands.
Police have reiterated that victims of harassment should seek legal remedies and assured that necessary action will follow based on formal complaints and investigation.
