
Patna/Kolkata: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar finds himself embroiled in the ongoing hijab controversy yet again. After Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, and Jammu & Kashmir, a fresh FIR has now been lodged against him in West Bengal.
The complaint, registered at Iqbalpur Police Station in Kolkata, alleges that CM Nitish Kumar forcibly pulled the hijab of Muslim woman doctor Nusrat Parveen during an official event in Patna.
According to the FIR filed by SK Sahjada, a resident of Bhukailash Road, the Chief Minister’s act was deliberate and malicious, aimed at hurting religious sentiments and creating public unrest.

The complaint also includes links from three different social media platforms. Police officials have confirmed that they will contact the complainant to record his statement to ascertain the grounds of his grievance. However, authorities clarified that no connection has been established between the complainant and Nusrat Parveen’s family.
Nusrat Parveen’s Family Relocates from Patna
Following the hijab incident, Dr. Nusrat Parveen has reportedly left Patna. Local sources say that her family vacated their flat in New Patliputra on 17 December and also closed another residence in Mohideen Enclave.
The case adds to a growing list of complaints against the Chief Minister across multiple states, highlighting the nationwide attention the hijab controversy has attracted.
