The long wait for nearly 24 lakh students preparing for the Madhya Pradesh Board 5th and 8th exams is finally over. The Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) has released the datesheet for the 2026 academic year, and the annual theory exams are scheduled to begin from 20 February 2026.
The exams for classes 5 and 8 will be conducted at both district and cluster levels, with schools and education centers instructed to finalize exam centers, staff assignments, and logistics in advance. Preparatory meetings are underway to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations.
Exam Timings and Schedule
All exams for classes 5 and 8 will be conducted in the afternoon shift from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. The first paper on 20 February will be Hindi. Class 8 exams will continue until 28 February, while the Class 5 exams will conclude on 26 February.

Other Classes
The MP Board 10th exams will start from 11 February 2026 and conclude on 2 March 2026, while the 12th board exams will be held from 10 February to 5 March 2026. These theory exams will be conducted in the morning shift from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
