Jharkhand High Court Orders FIR in Case of HIV-Infected Blood Transfusions to Children
Ranchi, Jharkhand: The Jharkhand High Court has taken a strict stance in the shocking case of HIV-infected blood being transfused to children at the Chaibasa Sadar Hospital. The court has directed the police to immediately register a First Information Report (FIR) in the matter.
Immediate Police Action Ordered
Hearing a writ petition filed by Deepak Hembram, a single-judge bench led by Justice Gautam Kumar Choudhary termed the incident as a case of gross negligence and systemic failure. The court instructed the police to register the FIR without delay and take prompt action. Petitioners were directed to submit their application to the local police station, and the station in-charge was instructed to act on it “immediately.”
