
Ranchi/Manali: In a sudden and shocking incident, Veer Soren, grandson of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren, passed away in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Veer Soren had recently visited the Kullu-Manali region with friends. On the night of February 24, 2026, his health suddenly deteriorated, and despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, he was declared dead. The news sent waves of grief across his family and well-wishers in Jharkhand.
Champai Soren Confirms the Passing
Former CM Champai Soren confirmed the tragic news on his social media account X, stating:
“It is with profound sorrow that we inform you of the untimely demise of our beloved grandson, Veer Soren, on 24th February 2026. After his health suddenly worsened in Manali, Himachal Pradesh, he was taken to a hospital, but fate had other plans. Veer’s departure has left our family shattered. – The Soren Family”
Incident Details
Veer Soren had been enjoying a trip to Manali with friends. After spending the morning skating in the snow, he returned to his hotel room. Later that night, his condition rapidly worsened. Friends immediately tried to assist him and rushed him to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, the delay in medical attention proved fatal. Upon arrival, doctors pronounced him dead, leaving friends and local residents in shock. The news was promptly communicated to the family.
Family Rushes to Manali
Upon receiving the news, former CM Champai Soren, accompanied by his three sons Siml Soren, Babulal Soren, and Bablu Soren, departed from Ranchi to Delhi and will proceed to Manali. Veer Soren was the son of Babulal Soren.
Shock During Traditional Festivities
On the evening of the incident, Champai Soren had attended the Baha Festival celebrations in his ancestral village, Jilingoda. The tragic news arrived the next morning, casting a pall over the festivities. The celebrations were immediately suspended, and villagers, along with supporters, expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
