‘Police Will Respond to Bullets With Bullets’: CM Yogi Assures Investors on Security

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday reiterated his government’s tough stance on law and order, assuring investors of strong security and a stable business environment in the state. Speaking at the inauguration of the Uttar Pradesh Pharma Conclave 1.0, the chief minister said the state guarantees “Safety, Stability and Speed (SSS)” to every investor.

Referring to criticism over police encounters, Adityanath said that if criminals open fire, the police will respond in kind. “Police personnel are trained to use weapons for this purpose,” he said, underlining the government’s zero-tolerance policy toward crime. He also promised industry leaders from across the country a streamlined single-window clearance system and full administrative support for investments in Uttar Pradesh.

“Law equal for all”

The chief minister stressed that the law applies equally to everyone, whether mafia figures, criminals, or politically connected individuals. He contrasted the current situation with the period before 2017, alleging that the state was once plagued by kidnapping, extortion, and organized crime. According to him, business owners and ordinary citizens previously lived in fear, but the situation has since improved under the BJP government.

Adityanath said Uttar Pradesh has evolved into a symbol of trust for investors and a model of timely delivery and governance reform. He highlighted that the state now ranks first in deregulation and is a top achiever in ease of doing business.

Push for industry and MSMEs

The chief minister announced that entrepreneurs investing in the MSME sector are exempt from inspections for 1,000 days, a move aimed at encouraging industrial growth. He said the number of factories in the state has more than doubled since 2017, rising from around 14,000 to over 30,000.

He also outlined major infrastructure plans, including the development of the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA) over 56,000 acres—larger than Noida—which he said would be completed within two years. A bulk drug pharma park in Lalitpur is being developed on a hub-and-spoke model, while a medical device park, a US FDA testing laboratory, and a world-class logistics hub are coming up in Gautam Buddh Nagar. A global-standard pharma institute is also planned for Lucknow.

“India will not bow”

Referring to international trade pressures, Adityanath said India would not bow before any country and remains firm on its policies. He said the nation’s growing global stature reflects a shift from the pre-2014 era, when India was not taken seriously on the world stage.

Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda joined the conclave virtually and expressed confidence that Uttar Pradesh would emerge as a major pharmaceutical manufacturing hub, driven by policy support and new industrial parks. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak added that improved infrastructure, uninterrupted electricity, and enhanced connectivity have transformed the state into a safer and more profitable destination for industry.

He also said medicines manufactured in Uttar Pradesh would receive procurement priority from the government, noting that the state’s medical supply corporation currently operates with a ₹1,000 crore budget that is expected to grow.
