Indore | November 7:
Prominent coal industrialist Vinod Agrawal has once again been recognized as Madhya Pradesh’s biggest donor, securing the 71st rank in the EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2025. This marks the fifth consecutive year he has topped the state’s list of philanthropists.

In the financial year 2024–25, Agrawal donated ₹19 crore towards causes such as education, healthcare, women empowerment, animal welfare, poverty alleviation, and malnutrition. Although his national ranking slipped from 58th last year to 71st this year, he continues to be the leading philanthropist from Madhya Pradesh.

Over 200 Business Tycoons Nominated for the 2025 List

This year, around 200 industrialists from across India applied for inclusion in the Hurun India list, of which 185 were finally featured. From Madhya Pradesh, Sudhir Agrawal also made it to the list, securing the 98th position.

Consistent Presence in Both Rich and Philanthropy Lists

Vinod Agrawal has featured in the Hurun India Rich List for five consecutive years as well. In 2025, he ranked 328th nationally and first in Madhya Pradesh, with 13 industrialists from the state making it to the list.

Agrawal believes that prosperity in business must reflect in social responsibility.

“When one’s business grows, it’s important to share the benefits with society. Serving the community purifies one’s thoughts and brings transparency to business,” he said.

Major Social Initiatives by Vinod Agrawal Foundation

Recently, the Vinod Agrawal Foundation constructed a large community kitchen at the Annapurna Temple in Indore. The kitchen aims to serve 2,000–3,000 people daily through vans and kiosks.

Apart from this, Agrawal has launched free yoga centers, and continues to support education and healthcare projects across the state. He also announced his plans to contribute to the upcoming Ujjain Simhastha, working in coordination with the government and spiritual leader Acharya Avadheshanand Giri.

Drawing inspiration from Aditya Birla, Agrawal expressed hope that more industrialists from Indore and Madhya Pradesh will come forward in the future to engage in philanthropy.

Appeal for Traffic Discipline in Indore

Apart from his charitable work, Agrawal has urged citizens to support traffic management initiatives in Indore.

“Just as people helped make Indore number one in cleanliness, they should now cooperate with authorities to make the city number one in traffic discipline as well,” he said.
