Lakhisarai, Bihar: In a dramatic turn of events, Lakhisarai police apprehended two notorious criminals after a police chase that ended in a motorcycle crash. The suspects were reportedly attempting to carry out a major crime when they were intercepted by law enforcement. Both are now receiving treatment at a hospital before being formally taken into custody.
Gunfire Erupts in Santar Mohalla
The incident unfolded in Ward Number 13, near the local water plant, when residents were shaken by the sound of gunfire. The two audacious criminals fired shots in public before attempting to flee on their motorcycle. However, the Lakhisarai police, led by Town Station Officer Sunil Kumar Sahni, responded immediately and pursued the suspects.
Motorcycle Loses Control During Escape
During the chase, the suspects lost control of their motorcycle and crashed on the road. The accident left both criminals seriously injured, preventing them from escaping further.
Suspects Identified and Intoxicated
The apprehended criminals have been identified as Vikki Lala, a resident of Thana Chowk, and Akash, also known as Baua, from Naya Tola. According to SDPO Shivam Kumar, Akash has a prior record of involvement in several shooting-related crimes. Preliminary medical tests confirmed that both suspects were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
Police Investigation Underway
The police have admitted the suspects to Sadar Hospital for treatment and are continuing their investigation. Authorities say that quick police action prevented a potentially major crime and emphasized that efforts are ongoing to determine the motive behind the shooting incident.
